So I saw JJ's Star Trek for the second time today. I love the movie and it's even better second time round. The casting... Giacchino's score... the little nods to the original series... all perfect. Love Nimoy too. I had a huge grin on my face when he showed up. It's one of those truly great moments, y'know? :aww:

If you're planning on seeing it in theaters for the first, or second (or third?...) time, be aware that there is a very cool competition going. Apparently JJ has given a little cameo to a certain droid named R2D2. If you find him, there is an "official Trek prop" up for grabs. Full details can be found here. Geektastic!

For those of you following me on Twitter, you'll know that I'm starting to get just a leeeetle bit sick of the whole remake/re-imagining thing that has consumed Hollywood lately. And I'm not talking about English langauge remakes of foreign movies - did anyone else hear that they're remaking Stallone's Cliffhanger? And Fright Night! Yes, THAT Fright Night?! Is nothing sacred?

I'm also feeling a tad queasy about the planned Nightmare on Elm Street reboot, even though Rorschach himself is lined up to play Freddy. It's all Michael Bay's fault. His Platinum Dunes production company is responsible for the new Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Hills Have Eyes & Friday the 13th flicks. Damn you Michael Bay!

Having said that, I saw the Transformers 2 trailer on the big screen. I'm a total sucker for big robots & Megan Fox bathed in sunlight. :shakefist:

dAgnostic

As a member of the crew over at =dAgnostic I'd like to thank those of you that have added the group to your watchlist. If you've not heard of it, dAgnostic is a group of deviants that help unknown artists get the attention they deserve through News articles & monthly Journal features.

Word about the group is starting to spread incredibly fast which is fantastic but for it to truly have maximum impact we need you to spread the word too, ideally via Journal entries linking to the page.

There is also a contest running until June 6 with the theme "Unknown". The theme is wide open so head over and check out the latest Journal. :)

Buddy & Jovie

There was a pair of new arrivals in the 'Scout household this week - two rescued rabbits, originally called Posh & Becks. (The fact that my name is David and my wife is called Victoria is complete coincidence, I might add!)

We renamed them 'Buddy' & 'Jovie' after characters from the Will Ferrell movie Elf. Here they are having a nap after a busy day eating:
