Tom Cruise by BikerScout Tom Cruise by BikerScout
Tom Cruise as Ray Ferrier from Steven Spielberg's 'War of the Worlds'

This is the result of 5½-6 hours of work in Photoshop CS using a Wacom. It was intended to be an experiment using subtle colour variations and achieving a dramatic lighting style.

I'm chuffed with the depth of focus which was purely so that the main focus would be the sharply detailed facial features whilst everything else blends into the background. The chin & jaw are especially pleasing to me since I often struggle with this area (sounds silly, I know).

Ended up having a lot of fun with this piece. For a more detailed look at how the piece developed, take a look at the WIPs found here --> [link]

Edit 26-01-07:
I've shifted the reflection in his left eye so the pupils are more evenly lit and smoothed out some of the detail that I must have forgotten to finish. Oopsie.
