Indiana Jones [WIPs]

Or should that be [WHIPs]? Anyway, I thought this might be helpful to someone looking to start working with markers & colour pencils.

This is only my second time combining these media. If you're familiar with using them individually, you should have no trouble combining them. I worked on 3" x 4" grey Canford card and used Copic warm grey markers W2-W8 to set the contrast and tone. I then added colour on top of the markers using Faber Castell Polychromos pencils.

1. Ink outlines and the initial layers of Copic marker (W2 and W5), plus a touch of white pencil for highlights.
   
2. The completed grey markers layer using W2-W8.
   
3. I used a light flesh colour all over the face as a foundation, except for the highlights. I then used a mixture of dark oranges, red & brown to achieve the right colouring, plus a little bit of green & blue.
   
4. When I think of Indiana Jones artwork, I instantly picture Drew Struzan's iconic poster art so the background is a nod to his style.
