This is the second part of my speedpainting of =FuzzyYak :iconfuzzyyak:
This video represents minutes 10-25

As with the Hellboy Speedpaint, I've left the toolbox in view so that you can which tools I'm using and when. For the most part I'm using nothing but the Brush tool at about 15% opacity, switching between white & black.

I've included a few commonly asked questions here for quick reference. Hopefully, you'll find this useful. :aww:

P.S. I made the eye smaller after working on Part I but I didn't record it. I used the exact same technique as in the Big Red Speedpaint - Finale

Q. Do you use a graphics tablet?
A. Yes. I haven't used a mouse for painting since 2004.

Q. How do you change the brush size so quickly?
A. Use the square brackets. [ decreases the brush size, ] increases it.

Q. How do you swap between foreground and background colours?
A. Pressing X swaps the currently chosen fg & bg colours. Pressing D returns to the black & white default.

Q. Which screen capture software do you use?
A. This is recorded with Camtasia Studio 5. Download a 30-day trial here.

Q. How many layers are there?
A. Since the very essence of speedpainting is to work quickly, I only use two layers - one for the black background and one for the paint.

Q. Where is the reference image?
A. I use a two-screen setup. What you see in the videos is probably only about a third of my left monitor - this is to keep the filesize smaller. The ref photo is over on the right-hand screen.

Couple of tips - the Camtasia file that it creates is usually huge. You need to use the ' Produce Video As' option in the left margin and then either save for Web which will produce an .swf file (like the ones I upload here), or save for CD which will produce an .avi file. You can import this AVI file into Windows Movie Maker and add titles etc. YouTube accepts .avi files so that's what I've been using.

If you want to speed up the clip (i.e. fit 30 minutes of painting into 5), right-click on the video when it's still in Camtasia and adjust the Clip Speed setting. This helps keep the filesize low. I usually aim for around 10MB or less. Most people have high-speed connections but for those who don't anything more is very frustrating!

If that doesn't make any sense, let me know and I'll send you a Note with further info.
