So I made this whilst working on my Scarlett Johansson piece.

Please note: this is a list of tips & tricks that I thought would be worth sharing, rather than a complete walkthrough.

When it came to doing the hair, I did a bit of hunting and found a couple of excellent tutorials. It's a combination of using a custom brush of 5 dots side by side, then smudging those brush strokes, all the time using varying brush sizes and opacities. I also used the dodge & burn tools with a very small brush to add some extra highlights and also some individual strands on a separate layer.

I'm taking my time with the hair since there's so much of it in the image. It's going well so far though. I think this is the first time I've gotten the results I've really wanted. :w00t:

Don't have photoshop or a tablet for that matter :cries: but these are certainly very useful for when i will get one..nice for me to browse through *saving to my hard drive* thanks a million for this and for the external link below on hair :nod: though i don't particularly like Scarlet Johanssen (sp ??) it's coming out really well :thumbsup:

Wow this is awsome I can not believe you actually made one. This will help out quite a few people. I am recommending this tutorial to :animemangahelp if you do not mind. The person running that name looks up different tutorials for shading and stuff like that like hair etc. so then other people can see this tutorial as well.
